Outreach Program

The Dayton Dance Conservatory Company (DDCC) Community Service Program is an outreach program where DDCC youth dancers share the art and joy of dance with other youth in underserved areas. In this program, DDCC dancers present the art of dance in various disciplines, introduce music and choreography, and share their knowledge of dance etiquette and technique with the community. Through the DDCC Community Service Program, community youth and DDCC youth develop together, using dance as a means to unite.

TEDx Dayton

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TED has created a program called TEDx. TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. Dayton Dance Conservatory Company Members have had the honor to participate in this program by sharing with their peers, and Dayton Community, the history of Tap Dance.

Community Outreach

Volunteers provide many important functions throughout the VA Medical Center and help make the patients’ stay more enjoyable. Dayton Dance Conservatory Company members volunteer by spending time with and performing for the men and women who have served for our country. They love to see the smiles and the feet tapping of the veterans which lets them know that the men and women who served had an enjoyable afternoon of entertainment.

Dayton Dance Conservatory Members have had the honor of providing their services to the staff and families of the Rosa Parks Early Learning Center throughout their Holiday Performance Event.

Dayton Dance Conservatory Company members have also dedicated time to patients at the Dayton Children's Medical Center developing in creating crafts, delivering movement-based lessons, and through mini demonstrations.

Continuing Education

During our visit to the VA medical center history museum the Dayton Dance Conservatory Company Members brushed up on their U.S. History and learned that the United States has the most comprehensive system of assistance for Veterans of any nation in the world, with roots that can be traced back to 1636, when the Pilgrims of Plymouth Colony were at war with the Pequot Indians.
